Happy 100th Birthday, Murray!

Today, March 2nd, 2026, would have been the great Murray Rothbard’s 100th birthday!

In celebration, I decided to talk a little bit about one of his essays that I think is exceptionally good at describing the proper mindset of Rothbardian Anarchocapitalism.

The bottom line is this: the State is a band of “robbers, enslavers, and murderers,” and whenever you lose sight of that fact, you risk falling into the trap of thinking about politics as winner-versus-loser, and viewing the State’s actions that you approve of through a lens that ignores the mountain of injustices upon which every one of its actions rests.
