Super-Quick Book Praise: Provoked, by Scott Horton

Just a quick post today as I’m working on some other stuff, but I finally finished Provoked by Scott Horton and it was fantastic!

It’s an in-depth study of over 40 years of history, chock-full of thousands of contemporaneous citations showing how world leaders lied to us and each other every step of the way, pushing two of the world’s most influential powers into the terrible relationship they have today.

Scott covers everything in exhaustive detail, pointing out when each side screwed up, and pulling no punches. His anti-war message is clear throughout the book. He talks about diplomatic blunders and potential off-ramps that could have helped reduce the dangers we find ourselves in today.

If you have any interest in the anti-war movement or the labyrinth that is U.S.-Russia relations, you need to check out this book. And if you’re a fellow freedom-lover, pick up a copy and help out the greatest foreign policy guy we have.
